Meet Esther: Our Latest Recruit!

It’s been almost six months to the day that we welcomed our last Research Assistant, Nabil. With nightly loris observations, reptile and insect surveys, and looking after the field station to boot, Nabil has been particularly busy. We thought it was about time he had a helping hand. Queue, Esther!

Hello! My name is Esther, my background major is Forestry Engineering. I learnt about forest also about conservation, and the animal conservation is the topic I interest in. Previously I was a volunteer here, been doing slow lorises observation and some surveys for coffee program, I am very excited to get the opportunity to be involved more in conservation as a new Research Assistant in Little Fireface Project team!

I love to observe animal behaviour, I have an experience of observing Lutung in Mount Rinjani National Park, West Nusa Tenggara Province for the internship, during the observation I learn much about their ecology and their behaviour. I also love to learn more about what we can do to protect the forest we have in here, also improve the communities’ economic through the coffee program and develop it as a sustainable wildlife-friendly coffee program.
