Den langsomme lori, også kendt som dovenaben, har med sine store øjne og sin tætte pels et utroligt nuttet udseende. Men den langsomme lori er ikke så ufarlig, som den ser ud til. Lorien har nemlig en kirtel under armen, som indeholder en dødbringende gift. Professor Anna Nekaris begiver sig her på en rejse til Javas jungle for at undersøge, hvorfor lorien mon besidder denne dødbringende gift.
I just finished watching the show here in Denmark and was very moved by it. I am an animal lover and has always been against animal cruelty but still I am also one of the many people that have watched the video on Youtube of the loris being tickled – and of course I thought it was oh so cute (not wanting one though). But watching your film and particulary the part on the illegal pet trading market has made me aware of the brutal and reckless people in the world, who only care about profit and not about the fact that they are killing this unique species (and many others as well). I think many people tend to close their eyes to this ongoing illegal trades, because it is so brutal and heartbreaking to think of, and many people don’t realise that they support this trade by considering wild and rare species like the loris as merely a pet! Best of luck with your research – you guys are doing an amazing and extremely important job! I truly hope you will succeed
