Assalamualaikum, Good Morning!!!
Hello, My name is Nita and I am 20 years old. I’m from State University of Jakarta and I am assisting with studies of the Javan slow loris in West Java with the Little Fireface family. So far, my experience has been amazing.
With new experiences comes a new spirit! I am from Jakarta, Indonesia and live with my family. I have been studying biology at Universitas Negeri Jakarta since 2011 and I enjoy gaining experience in the field. I hope to be a researcher here in Indonesia when I graduate in September this year. Who knows, maybe with the slow loris?
When I first arrived at the field station it was almost like I was jet-lagged after my 8 hour bus trip. It took a while to get used to being in a rural village when I am from a very large city.
I think I am very lucky to be part of the Little Fireface team and although we do encounter many animals, there is nothing quite like seeing a loris (kukang) in the wild. It’s a very BIG and amazing experience. It is wonderful to meet people who care so much for animals.
The education programs for children here are fantastic, I am actually speechless. The children learn so much and have fun.
Thank you very much for the new experiences here ☺
